Three odd ways people are staying occupied this quarantine

From viral conspiracy theories to dancing dads on TikTok, we seem to be making the most of lockdown.

1. Tiger King Conspiracies

If there’s anything the world needs right now, it’s a new conspiracy theory. Enter: “Tiger King”, a recently-released docuseries about captive tigers in America (and their oddball owners).

The series follows Joe Exotic, Carole Baskin and a plethora of big-cat zoo’s and owners around the country. From possible murders to unethical breeding practices, “Tiger King” spills all the beans. Left to their own devices in lockdown, viewers have taken to social media in hopes of proving conspiracies the show discussed. The most insane theory is that Big Cat Rescue owner Carole Baskin fed her “missing” husband to the tigers in hopes of collecting the money he’d leave behind.

Baskin has since spoken out about the series saying it makes assumptions about her husband’s death/disappearance “without any regard for the truth”. A laundry list of similarly absurd “Tiger King” conspiracy theories are floating around the internet as we speak, watch the series and add your own two cents! Still not convinced? Listen to this.

2. Down-Your-Drink Challenge

This one’s pretty self-explanatory. While pubs in the UK (and around the world) are shut down, people are finding new ways to keep the fun in drinking from a distance.

A new Instagram challenge called Down-Your-Drink or simply The Drinking Challenge has now spread across multiple social media sites including Facebook and Snapchat. The task is simple: down a drink in one go and post it online, nominating friends across the street (or the world) to follow suit.

If you’re worried about drinking too much during quarantine, follow Drinkaware’s advice by staying connected and “[committing] to drink-free days”. Wouldn’t hurt to chug a glass of orange juice!

3. TikTok

Have you ever wanted to see grown men dancing to Doja Cat? Since everyone was ordered to stay inside, Tik-Tok has exploded with new content. The app lets you create 15-second to one-minute long videos about almost anything. Current trends surround all things quarantine; from scripted family feuds to the struggles of working from home, these clips are more than relatable.

And as mentioned before, there are tons of TikTok-ing adults grooving to artists like rapper Megan Thee Stallion—you don’t want to miss it. Take some TikTok time for yourself and see all the hype!

Lockdown has us turning to almost anything for entertainment, might as well join in!
