On a very tight budget and needing to go to a job interview, I was in desperate need for a formal blouse that would work great with whatever I already have in my wardrobe.
I sprang into action. I spotted an old friend, an Oxfam charity shop, one of my favourites. They have a greater diversity of clothing and even cheaper prices compared to other charity shops e.g. Cancer.org, Heart Foundation etc (other charity shops, I find, have really high prices).
Grabbing the door handle of the charity shop, and stepping inside, all my worries and urgency tied to my impending job interview fizzled out and I was transported to another world, where vast amounts of clothing hung on racks, where eagle-eyed customers quickly grabbed clothing with prices that were too good to be true, and where shelves were stacked with a myriad of donated books, and films and even a few toys. The awe and wonder continued as I stared starry-eyed, at all the tops lavishly laid on wooden clothing rack handles.
Grabbing five tops, I marched off towards the changing room (the only one in the entire shop). Spot the best buy!
