Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson appears to have got himself into hot water during his time out on loan at Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga in Germany. The 19-year-old was left out of the latest matchday squad to face Nurnberg on Sunday.
It was reported that Nelson was left out of the side due to “educational” reasons, which were also described as a disciplinary measure. The Arsenal youngster is said to have fallen out of favour with Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann, which has ultimately halted his bright start to his loan spell in the Bundesliga.

While his removal from the team may actually be for educational reasons, the idea to completely remove a player from a squad suggests punishment for something other than education.
The Arsenal loanee boasted a stellar start to his loan spell scoring six goals in his first 11 games in Germany. However, since the start of the year he has struggled to influence the team and has failed to make the starting 11 since the middle of December.
The England under-21 international’s form has been off the boil for a while now, as he has not scored a goal since November, when he scored the winner against FC Augsburg in a 2-1 victory. Since then, he has failed to find the back of the net and has seen a decline in his form which started brightly in the summer.
The encouraging start of his loan career even led to his first call up to the England u21 squad in October 2018 and scoring a tidy back heel goal on his debut against Andorra.
Nelson is highly regarded at Arsenal, having agreed a new three-year contract prior to him joining the German side on loan.
