Looking to get some grub between class? Something new for your lunch break? Holloway Road’s got plenty to pick from for your lunch-time desires. Here’s a list of all the places along Holloway Road and its surrounding area – so you have easy access to the perfect place to grab your munch.

Afrikana

  • The chain restaurant just opened its newest branch on Holloway Road and definitely doesn’t disappoint. With afro-inspired interiors and cuisine, this is perfect for a group lunch with your coworkers or school mates.

We Meat Again with Jollof Rice, Rice ‘N Peas, Plantains, and Coleslaw / The Thic Chick with Mac ‘N Cheese / The Green Mile, Passion Star, Sweet Affairs cocktails & Guava Jarrito for drinks

Subway

  • Need a quick bite? Subway is the sandwich essential for anybody! For a working lunch or just an old classic, Subway may be the right lunch stop for you.
  • London Met student and Holloway Express’s film editor, Maria Pedrosa, 20, said: “I usually get a chicken teriyaki sandwich – because that’s the best – with barbecue crisps and a Fanta or a Sprite. I used to really like Subway back in the States, but it’s a bit better here. It’s also cheaper and feels like I’m getting more than a Tesco meal deal!”

Nando’s

  • Another classic for your lunch break, you can never go wrong at Nando’s. For a group lunch or just flying solo, Nando’s a lunch essential.

Little Wonder Cafe

  • Located right by the Arsenal stadium, Little Wonder is the perfect place for a cosy lunch break out of the office. With great sandwiches, bangers and mash, and the possibility of running into the Arsenal squad, this could be the place.

Juss Jerk

  • If you’re looking for a Caribbean twist for your lunch break, Juss Jerk is perfect for you! With friendly staff, flavourful food, and the sweetest staff, this place is great for a midday break or a quick takeaway. If you’re a Gooner, stick around to talk football or pass by on game day for a special menu!
  • Pricing: £-££ (Ask about their student discount!)

Popped in quickly to grab the Mac & Juss Jerk Chicken with a mandatory portion of plantains for a working lunch.

Chip N Jerk

  • A new edition to the Holloway Road food scene, Chip N Jerk looks like a bit of us. From the Rice Bowl to their staple Chip N Jerk loaded fries, this spot is rated 4.8 stars already! Definitely on our list for next lunch break. 
  • Picky eater approved! Eighteen-year-old Kaiden Sammy, who works in the front of house, says: “The best thing to get here is the Jerk Bowl. I already like just rice and chicken and the plantains and slaw add to it.”

That Wing Place

  • Another highly rated spot, That Wing Place looks great for a quick bite. Their flavourful wings and interesting fry combos are certainly enticing to make a visit soon.

PO PO Sushi Bar

  • Last but definitely not least is PO PO Sushi Bar. Rated a cool 4.8 stars, the food looks lovely and vibes seem great for a group lunch. We will be there!
