Hoxton is now to one of the busiest areas in East London, and for a moment of calm, you can visit Victoria Miro and Parasol Unit  – art galleries which are hidden spaces, where individuals come to escape the rush of Old Street, which is just a short walk away.

Not only that though… the building itself is an architectural gem with its own little garden outside, overlooking a stretch of Regent’s Canal.

Both galleries are located in one building next to each other, which is quite perfect for those craving to fill their day with seeing good art.

With its two amazing locations in London and one in Venice, the acknowledged Victoria Miro gallery keeps boosting London’s already developed, strong art scene.

From Yayoi Kusama’s pumpkin and chandelier exhibition, Alex Hartley’s photographs inspired by natural environments to Do Ho Suh’s construction of passages that people go through… Victoria Miro has showed it all.

“I was able to see Kusama’s work for free. I’ve always admired her multifunction – not every artist is a master of sculpture, painting, drawing or installations,” says 22-year-old 3-D designer, Mattheus Dias.

“Victoria Miro’s one of my favourite galleries in London… I didn’t even have to pay to see this exhibition. Just got here a bit earlier in the morning to avoid the queues and now I’m enjoying it.” He’s looking at Elger Esser’s exhibition ‘Morgenland’ in Parasol Unit.

A foundation for contemporary art, Parasol Unit has recently opened its door to yet another great exhibition ‘Morgenland’, which is available there for free until the end of this month.

The work is from German’s photographer Elger Esser, who collected photographs from his travels in the countries of Lebanon, Israel and Egypt from 2004 to 2015.

The biggest advantage is that these two great galleries are connected within the building, making sure you witness more than one exhibition.

So pop in to 16 Wharf Road, where you will certainly be welcomed with clean and minimalistic aesthetics, tranquil garden and most of all brilliant artistry.
