The last six weeks have been turbulent for Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino. One point out of a possible 12 reflects poor form at the worst time for the north London side. On Wednesday, they will look to revive their form in their first competitive game at the new stadium against Crystal Palace.

Nothing less than a win will do for Spurs, as the race for the top four looks as if it will go to the final day. The gap between arch-rivals Arsenal in 3rd and Chelsea in 6th is only three points, with Spurs currently in 4th with less than nine games to play.

Since the international break Spurs’s form has been poor, and it could not have come at a worse time. The Lilywhites will want to revive their form and it would be ideal to start life at the new stadium with a win.

The new stadium alone should be enough for Spurs to relish the occasion and find much-needed momentum.

Three points are an absolute must for Pochettino and his side, otherwise their top four hopes would take a huge blow.

With a busy run-in for Spurs ahead, now would be the time for Pochettino to re-galvanise his side.

Spurs still have Manchester City in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League as well, and their hopes of European success will remain fresh in the minds of supporters who can remain optimistic.

Despite the current form going into the game being poor for Spurs, they still have plenty to look forward to and can maintain high optimism.

A victory over Crystal Palace in the new stadium would do their confidence the world of good, and they can kick on for the rest of the season.

After their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, Pochettino said that their chances of qualifying for next seasons UEFA Champions League is in their own hands.

A rough patch of form for Spurs has proven to be their catalyst for improvement in recent seasons, the 47-year-old believes that this can only benefit his side.

After Sunday’s defeat, Pochettino told the BBC: “We are disappointed but the emotion and feeling will help us.”

The Argentine also said: “It is so important for the club to be in the top four at the end of the season and we need to keep our trust and confidence.”
