Casey Cadwallader, Mugler’s American creative director, designed the collection creating bold and empowering clothes for a greater audience, and to reach more consumers. The partnership aims to create new looks with Mugler’s signature style, which celebrates ‘freedom, self-expression and diversity’.

Creative Advisor at H&M, Ann-Sofie Johansson said: “We are proud to celebrate the legacy of Manfred Thierry Mugler with this collection.” She added how Cadwallader did a “incredible job at paying homage” to the history of Mugler on H&M’ press release.

Cadwallader told H&M magazine that he “was determined that this collection be true Mugler. The details and quality of every piece had to be exactly as we do them”. He included that he aimed to showcase the essence of Mugler which is all about “personal liberation”.

In her collections, two of the components H&M aim to base its long-term strategy on are innovation and sustainability.
