Stuck at home during isolation can drive you crazy. Not getting out to your local hairdressers or beauty salon takes its toll after a few days indoors.
We’ve all been sat at home thinking the same: how long it will be until I can head out like normal again?
If you don’t want to emerge from iso with three inches of black roots or a fuzzy moustache, these quick and easy hacks will help. Best of all, you can create your own home salon with ingredients from the kitchen cupboard!
Hack One: Body Scrub
What you’ll need:
1 cup brown sugar mixed with one cup olive oil (may change ratio dependent on desired consistency)
A drop of your favorite essential oil (if you wish your homemade body scrub to smell like the ones in the salon).
Mix well and you’re good to go!
Hack Two: DIY Face Mask
What you’ll need:
1/2 cup of hot water
1/3 cup of oatmeal
2 tablespoons of plain greek yoghurt
2 tablespoons honey
Egg white from one egg.
Mix altogether and apply onto your face, leave to dry for 15 minutes. Rinse off and your skin will feel smooth as a baby’s…
Verdict: Charlotte Victoria Shaw, 28, makeup Artist. “I made my own scrub from the ingredients, it left my skin feeling exfoliated and nourished. You can also change the brown to white sugar if you don’t own any brown sugar. Kept me feeling pampered during isolation.”
Hack Three: SOS Hair Mask
What you’ll need:
2 tablespoons of plain yoghurt
1 tablespoon of warm honey
1 tablespoon warm olive oil
Rub all over your hair focusing on your roots and scalp. Leave for 35-40 minutes then rinse.
Verdict: “The hair mask is a favourite of mine as it can be used for both men and women. I’d recommend using it three times a week. Thanks for bringing the beauty salon to me.”
