Music is GREAT Week will begin Monday 14th May. The Iconic Live Moments DVD, a compilation that celebrates the most iconic British live acts, will also be released on the 14th coinciding with the music celebratory event.
What better way to celebrate Music is GREAT week, than to go to a music venue with live sessions every day?
Live music venue, Proud Camden, will have a week packed full of musical events, from live sessions to soul food to new bands on the block. It’s the perfect way to celebrate Music is GREAT week.
Proud Camden is located in a 200-year-old Horse Hospital in the Stables Market, Camden. Adorned by images of rock royalty throughout, the venue has been systematically designed and restored. It, however, still retains many of the beautiful and genuine features, including the original stables, now used as entertainment lounges.
Throughout the day Proud Camden is the ideal place to come and relax with your mates. Hot beverages and food are available, and each stable has HD flat screen TVs with Sky Sports and Movie channels. The venue is transformed into a live music venue and bar from 7.30pm, with each night hosting the best eclectic music in North London. Known for its commitment to programming the very best live music – Jessie J, Peter Doherty, Dizzee Rascal, The Kooks, Stereophonics, and Johnny Borrell all have played intimate sets. The bar has developed a cult following and become a celebrity hang-out for locals.
Recent performers at the venue have included: Ed Sheeran, Dirty Pretty Things, Lethal Bizzle, The Enemy, Lykke Li, Vivian Girls, Black Lips, Manchester Orchestra and I Blame Coco with thanks to London’ best industry club nights.

The DVD will include film footage and audio of legendary performances and will be available on May 14th to mark the start of Music is GREAT Week. All profits will go to “Save the Children.”
The compilation spans three decades of unforgettable live moments; from David Bowie’s performance of Ziggy Stardust at Hammersmith in 1973, to Radiohead’s 1997 performance of Karma Police at Glastonbury, right through to 2011 when Adele performed Someone like You at The BRIT Awards.
Music is GREAT Week also officially starts on May 14th and will be seven days of musical celebration. It will be an opportunity for artists, bands and music fans to pay tribute to British music (past, present and future) through a number of exciting events and appearances.
Music is GREAT Week will be the platform for fans and critics to debate what’s great about British music and the amazing experiences that go with it: What was the best live show you’ve been to in the UK? Which gig did you camp out at the night before in order to attend? What ticket did you have to have?
