Glory Despite Injury for Arsenal

Arsenal have booked their place in the FA cup quarter finals by defeating Hull City 4-0 at the KC Stadium.

Despite their shaky performances in the Premier League, Arsenal Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott scored two goals each to take them close to a third successive FA Cup final.

This replay game began as the last game ended – lacklustre and tired. An unfortunate back pass to David Meyler lead to Olivier Giroud scoring the first goal.

Soon after the second half Giroud scored another goal to put Arsenal far ahead. Between Theo Walcott’s brace of goals and the end of the game, the team suffered three injuries.

Centre back duo Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista suffered thigh injuries and Welsh star Aaron Ramsey limped off after coming on as a substitute. This doesn’t look good for Arsenal who have double cup games against Watford and European champions Barcelona FC.

Olivier Giroud celebrated the birth of his son with two goals and vowed to lead Arsenal to the Premiership and European Glory. A bold statement for the French star but looking at his recent record of six goals in eight games, you wouldn’t put it past him.

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger was happy with his team’s performance despite the injuries. He stated that he felt his team could have been more clinical in the first half. Arsenal are in the quarter finals of the FA cup and will have to prepare for Watford in the coming days.
