A Bishop who has devoted himself to God devotes himself to over 1.2K viewers on YouTube live by offering a daily service to support all who need to feel in touch with God during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Finsbury Park, Rainbow Theatre is one of many UCKG centres which are spread over numerous places around the world and offer teachings of god and support for the vulnerable people of society.
Alvaro Lima says: “This is the time we are most needed to serve our communities in the name of the lord. We will not let this coronavirus pandemic endeavour us from bestowing on them the strength of the Lord.”
Even though churches are closed the church will continue to reach out to the community through their YouTube platform throughout the week. While the church’s doors are shut – as they must be – the church itself never closes, for the church is you, each and every one of you that believes, according to the Reverend.
The Bishop can be seen at the altar in Finsbury Park (Headquarters) in a YouTube video in a practically empty church. However, there are some members of the congregation – presumably those involved in the filming – who are shown on the side with no signs of personal protective equipment.
Bishop Alvaro invites all his followers to stand up (at home) and join him in songs of praise. The music is played by the church’s organist and is dubbed over with previous recordings of harmonious choir singers.
After the song is over he asks everyone to kneel and pray, wherever they have tuned in. “Thank you dear Lord for allowing me to wake up this morning and kneel before you in your house,” he told his viewers.
“Let us pray for our NHS brothers and sisters who are fulfilling the work you have given them to do in your name. Let us pray for all the people we have lost around the world, may we give thoughts and compassion to the people that have lost loved ones to the pandemic.”
Everyone is welcome to the church, they support people from all walks of life. The Bishop has said that if you are in a crisis or in a time of need or just need someone to talk to, you join them online or at one of their churches after the pandemic is over.
Dannette Goode-Leigh, an online participant, thanked the Bishop for the service in a live chat at the end of the service, and asked that he take care of himself going to and from the church as a lot of people are dying from the virus.
A pastor who continued preaching through the pandemic who said he would only stop if he was put in jail has now died of the novel coronavirus. Bishop Gerald Glenn, the pastor of New Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Virginia, USA died on Saturday night.
Another pastor also from the US who shared similar feelings and said that the novel “coronavirus is media, mass hysteria” died a day later from the deadly virus in Gretna Virginia. Some people in the US see the lockdown as a restriction of their civil liberties.
