A young man has pled not guilty to voyeurism and filming his ex-girlfriend without consent, at the Highbury Corner Magistrates court.
Brian Gunawan, a 25-year-old resident of Eversholt Street in the Mornington Crescent area, is accused of recording a private sexual act between him and his ex-girlfriend, who cannot be named for legal reasons, without her knowledge or consent.
Officers conducted a warrant on the property of Gunawan and found devices containing images of the female victim, and several explicit recordings.
The victim, who was in a relationship with the defendant at the time, claimed she was completely unaware and although she consented to the sexual act – she had no knowledge she was being recorded and did not agree to it.
Gunawan, who has pleaded not guilty to the crime, claims she knew about the recordings.
The defendant was released on bail on the only condition he agrees to make zero contact with the victim.
His trial will begin at the Highbury Magistrates court on the 6th of April at 10am.
