As the winter breeze begins to fade, it’s the perfect time to refresh your wardrobe and welcome the vibrant energy of spring. Adding pops of colour is an easy and fun way to transition your look from dull winter tones to fresh, lively colours.
Here’s how you can include some brightness into your outfits and get ready for the upcomikng spring season.
Start small with accessories
If you’re not ready to go all in with bold colours, start with accessories. A bright handbag, colourful scarves, or statement jewellery can instantly elevate a neutral outfit.
Consider opting for pastel shades like soft pinks and blues for a delicate touch as a start, or you could try bolder colours like turquoise, coral, or yellow to make a strong statement whilst keeping a vibrant spring vibe.
Student Bianca Gruia, 19, said: “I don’t normally wear very bright colours but every now and then I like to have a pop of colour in my outfit, mainly in my accessories like my bag or shoes.”

Play with patterns and prints
Spring is the perfect time to experiment with florals, stipes, or even colour-blocking. Adding colorful patterns to your tops, skirts, or dresses can instantly bring a vibrant vibe to your look. Don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns with complementary colours to create a fun, dynamic style.
NHS worker, Felicia Pop, 51 said “I’ve always liked wearing colour, even during winter, because I think it lifts up your mood. For spring I like wearing florals, more in the summer though cause you get to wear floral dresses.”

Colorful Layering
Layering doesn’t have to be limited to neutrals. Think beyond the beige and gray and start experimenting with layering in colours that go well together. Pair a colourful jumper with a pair of classic blue jeans, or for a spring appropriate occasion, wear a bright cardigan over a neutral dress. This adds dimension to your outfit while embracing the spirit of spring.

Incorporating colour into your wardrobe is a simple way to breathe new life into your outfits and prepare for the warmer months. So, say goodbye to winter’s muted shades and hello to the bright, fresh colours of spring. You’ll feel refreshed and ready to take on the season in style!
