For years, fashion has been a symbol of communicating one’s identity to the world. It is a form of conveying elegance, style, originality, flair – and sometimes rebellion. It is with fashion that we can play in various ways, choosing colours and styles to match our personalities.
BAREK NEVERLANDESS is a French clothing designer. His brand is a new unique project inspired by Asian culture combined with Streetwear and Hip Hop. It was brought to life by the Manga artist Kevin Iniongo, who called Barek an artist designer. It was he who broke the barriers of polite fashion and created something completely original from simple clothes. His designs are mainly known for their hand-painted leather jackets in crazy patterns.
Fashion can hurt, as unfortunately nowadays we are often judged for our appearance, not our intellect or personality. This was also the case of this artist, who was called a man from the future because he never did things like everyone else, never gave up and pursued his goal and the passion that his designs give him.
“When I was a kid I suffered a lot from that. I had to put up with a lot of mockery and stares from other people, and it was this pain that encouraged me to become a designer,” said the designer.
With his designs, Barek creates a new type vogue that no one has heard of. He is an amazing artist who treats his clients with special respect, he wants people wearing his clothes to feel special and different from others. “I would like to communicate to my audience a new perspective on fashion. artistic and animated madness,” he said.
Barek does not look at trends: he says he hates them. “I don’t try to adapt to fashion, it’s up to fashion to adapt to me,” he said.
Not surprisingly, he is an unpredictable person with a very artistic spirit, and his creative sense knocks the audience to their knees. This year, he had the opportunity to be part of London Fashion Week, where he had presented his clothes from the 2022 collection during the Never Fade meeting in Soho.
