The process of exfoliation is used to improve the appearance of skin that can be affected by sun, acne and the pollution it is exposed to daily.
This cleaning is an important step in skincare, especially in the parts that are more exposed.
However, it is advisable not to abuse these treatments, as they could generate skin irritations and lesions.
But, even if we are at home and not exposed, we still need to take care of our skin. Ana Maria, 25, says: “It is super important to exfoliate your skin, but not only the face. Once you do it you can instantly feel it gets better, it looks smoother and radiant.”
There are different products on the market for this purpose, however, most of them are loaded with chemicals and other materials. For this reason, we bring you 5 scrubs that you can prepare at home with simple and natural ingredients.
1 – Bicarbonate and lemon to eliminate the fat

A zest of lemon will leave your skin healthier than ever!
This bicarbonate and lemon-based exfoliant will help you in the purpose of having a less shiny and healthier skin. We use 3 tbsp of bicarbonate and the juice of one lemon. Then, we will mix the ingredients to form a paste that we will apply all over our face.
Leave it on for 15 minutes and remove with plenty of warm water.
If you have delicate skin, be careful with this preparation, as citrus and bicarbonate could irritate. To make it less abrasive, replace the bicarbonate with sugar and apply it in the same way.
2 – Coffee and sugar scrub to reduce cellulite

Coffee-grounds based scrubs are known to have many wonderful benefits for the skin
Caffeine reactivates blood circulation and prevents fat deposits from forming under the skin.
Mix 200 grams of ground coffee, 5 tbsp of brown sugar and 6 tbsp of olive oil or hand cream.
Apply it to your skin giving soft massages and let it act for 20 minutes and remove with a warm water shower.
I’ve tried this one and in my opinion, is even much better tan the body scrubs we usually buy. It smells amazing and it leaves your skin even better!
3 – Moisturize and exfoliate at the same time with honey

Honey is fantastic to moisturise the skin
If you have dry skin, honey is a natural ingredient that will help make it smooth and give it back its natural glow.
Crush 3 almonds and add 2 tbsp of honey and the juice of half a lemon.
Apply it all over your face, including your lips.
Leave the exfoliant on for 15 minutes and remove with warm water.
4 – Egg whites to remove blackheads

Say bye to skin sagging with this egg-cellent face mask!
Eggs white contain nutrients that will make your skin smoother and also help with skin sagging.
You will only need the white of an egg, which you will beat in a bowl. With a brush, apply a thin layer of mask and then place a thin layer of toilet paper and repeat the process.
Leave on for 30 minutes and when the paste is completely dry, remove the pieces of paper upwards and rinse with warm water.
5 – Orange peels to clarify the skin

Some orange peels for some antioxidants!
Orange peel is rich in antioxidants, which will help in the elimination of free radicals from the skin leaving it fresher, healthier and more radiant.
Put the peels of two oranges in the sun until they are completely dry, then grind them in the blender until they form a powder. In a container, hydrate the powder with 150ml of milk until it forms a cream and your preparation is ready to use.
Apply the cream, let it dry and remove it with plenty of water. Repeat daily for the best results.
Last but not least, don’t forget to hydrate your skin after every scrubbing process!
